My sincerest apologies to all of you who have been bugging me about my lack of posting. You see, I thought I had caught up to my life but boy was I fooled! Nothing major happened (what could top Charlotte's car accident?)but I feel like I just came out of the middle of a tornado. I guess part of the problem has been Richard's work schedule. He has been working every night until 8:00 or 8:30 and all weekend as well. His company is trying to ship a product and they are still in crisis mode. Seems like they may be there right up until Christmas! They are treating him well though so I guess we shouldn't complain ~ not that it's ever stopped me before. I guess doing the single parent thing again has me quite frazzled. 5th grade homework is kicking my butt! Nathaniel has/had 3 major projects due all at once. He's got the science fair thing and let me tell you how stict that is. Poor thing had to do his bibliography 4 times last night before he got it right cause it has to be a VERY specific format. It's the same thing we all had to do in school but I think I had protectively blocked it from my memory. He also has a major report on an explorer that will be put into a power point presentation (boy I know I didn't have to do THAT in school) and a very cool project for Veteran's Day which I will post more about when it gets closer. Julianne also has to do a science fair project so if you ever can't find me, we're probably at the library AGAIN! I guess I shouldn't complain though cause at the end of the night Richard is here with me instead of in Virginia ~ Thank God! Let me just add though, that before Richard went to work on Saturday he did take Nathaniel to the library for a couple of hours and then took Nathaniel to work with him so there would be no distractions for the little man and he did get a lot of work done. Thanks honey!
I've been putting in a lot of hours at the school still ~ as a matter of fact I have to be there again this morning. I honestly don't mind helping out since our wonderful teachers are so overworked (and underpaid) so I end up there 3 or 4 days a week. The kids are still at the age where it is cool to have mom around so I guess I should be happy about that.
I did get some sewing done yesterday. I made two new pillow cases out of the beautiful batik I showed you a while back...
I also did the curtains for Julianne's room yesterday (please excuse the mess that is her room ~ she's already been told she is cleaning it today after school!)
She picked out the main fabric as well as the fuzzy trim on the valance. I just happened upon that piece and new it was perfect for what she had already picked.
Charlotte is doing well. She did go see her doctor the other day and he gave her a clean bill of health along with some meds to help her sleep cause she hasn't been.
I can't believe the holidays are already on their way. Christmas is up in all the stores ~ there's no way around it. I'm working on the dining room in preparation for Thanksgiving (I'm actually cooking this year since I now have a decent stove) and I'll post some pics when it's all done but it's looking very fall like. J&J will be at Jeremy's parents for Thanksgiving this year and Jen will be cooking the turkey. I think we are going over to see them on Friday since they'll only be an hour or so away. They have been SWAMPED with school and looks like they will be thru the Christmas holidays. I think they get 3 weeks off for Christmas and they will be hopping between Me, Jeremy's parents and Jen's dad. I'm looking forward to it!
Since I've been gone (from this blog) I have missed a birthday ~ my friend Randy in Atlanta. I've known Randy since I was 4 yrs old and we moved in just a house away from he and his brother Douglas. My mother tells stories of both brothers asking for my hand in marriage when we were tots. Douglas declared his love again when we were probably 10 but I think I slugged him for his troubles ~ Ewww Boys! Not really ~ I always liked boys but Douglas was my bud ~ I loved him dearly but never thought of him like that. Randy on the other hand, was cool and elusive and 2 yrs older. I never told him this but I had a terrible crush on him when I was 12 or 13. We used to hang out and play H-O-R-S-E in his driveway every evening. Shortly after that his mom remarried and they moved away. Douglas and I kept in touch for many years after and thanks to the internet Randy and I can now keep in touch. I have since gotten over the crush but am glad we are still friends. Happy Birthday Randy!
Well ~ I'll try to be better about keeping up ~ leave comments please so I know you are reading! I know I'm going to have a busy day today ~ I'd love to hear how your day was!

Barb,
I am not a blogger. Got your email and went to check out your pages.
I loved the blue quilt I saw on your page. Nice work and awesome colors.
I asked the family to go bowling on my birthday. Who knew it would turn out to be such a good idea. The little ones got the alley with bumpers and we used the regular one next door. What a blast. Everyone had fun. Later Deb and I went to dinner alone and then watched a movie, Date night. Take care and thanks for the nice words.
Randy
