Seems I fell off the face of the earth again. I guess I need to get my routine down and start posting on a regular basis again. Thanks to all of you for sticking with me. This last week has been more of the usual chaos. The kids finally had their first full week of school last week (Yippee!). Tuesday's PTO meeting ended with me as co-vice president of the PTO this year and that's already starting to take up some time as the fund raisers are already happening ~ anyone want to buy a Brevard County coupon book?
Wednesday morning I met with the owners of the quilt shop that I was going to work for. I didn't post about it, but decided against working there. It seemed to be more about selling $12,000 sewing machines and less about helping the customers and working with fabric. Well, I guess they really wanted me there so I've worked out a compromise. I will work on an "as needed" basis but never past 3:00 in the afternoon so I don't have to put the kids in afterschool care and I WILL NOT sell machines but free someone else up to do that. I will still have the freedom to come and go as I need but yet still be involved in the store. I think it's a win/win there.
Thursday was "Meet the teacher" night at school. LOVE Nate's teachers and they love him. I'm thinking it's going to be a good year for him. Julianne's teacher is fine. She likes the "warm & fuzzy" teachers and this isn't one of them, but she does seem very nice. Friday was a day to swap the kids. Nate had a sleepover at his friends' house and Julianne had a friend spend the night here. So, you loose one, you gain one.
I did get some sewing done this week. I made these can/bottle cozies for a certain gator fan I know. I also made some Marlin ones up for her darling husband. I kept one of the gator ones ~ to go with my "Gator Mom" sticker my daughter sent me and Julianne kept one of the Marlin ones since her sister has turned her into a fan.
I also finished up this sample for the shop. It's from the new Laurel Birch Christmas panel. It went pretty fast but I did do lots of quilting around all the little stuff in it.
I've got a new project to work on for them and I'll be sure to post pics when it's done.
Also ran into this guy ~ quite literally I was pulling into my designated polling place, when he walked right out in front of me. I didn't actually hit him but talk about your close encounters.
I'm looking forward to an extra day with my darling husband and kidlets today. Nate has soccer practice this morning but other than a dip in the pool we have no special plans. Happy labor day everyone!

I keep falling off the face of the earth myself....you are way better at keeping up than I am though! School started here too..and even though I have one in HS and one at home 'doing online college' it has still been a hustle! The older they get the harder to get a routine!
You have been busy! I've been terrible about posting to my blog too. I have lots to share but not enough time to sit and post.
I hope it works out with the quilt shop. They'll be lucky to have you!
Exactly WHAT kind of bird is that? :)
