Living in the past

Having no plans yesterday I started going thru some old photos. It started with me trying to find a picture of Jennifer's Great Aunt that passed away last week. She was my ex-husband's Aunt and this was taken the day of our wedding. She was a wonderful person who always made me feel special even after the divorce. I actually came across quite a few photos of the other side of Jen's family so between those and the cozies ~ she'll be getting a nice little package in the mail sometime this week! I also ran across quite a few to send to my niece, Trish. Lots of cute baby pics of her, and now she has an adorable little one of her own.

Anyway.. I digress... In going thru my old photos I pulled out a bunch that I wanted to scan into the computer. Julianne and I spent quite a bit of time uploading these and I will try to post a few here and there since some of my readers know the players involved. I've got lots more to do but here is a start...

This is my mom and I when I received my "First Holy Comunion" which would have been 2nd grade. This was taken at the Algiers Hotel which was where she worked most of her life.

This is us when I was in middle school. Yes, we had matching outfits ~ but we really didn't ever wear them together except for this photo. My mom usually liked the clothes I chose and it wasn't that uncommon for her to sneak into my closet and "borrow" some. At least I knew this outfit was safe!
This is us again in 1974 ~ Right about the time I graduated from high school
I lost my mom when I was 25 so these pictures mean so very much to me.
Stay tuned for next time when I bring up someone else's past....

I envy you that you have progressive year pics of you and your mom...my mom was always the photographer and she and I were rarely in pics together...and unfortunately as I look back at my own family's pictures...I am also the photographer...I hope my boys have great memories...my mom has red hair like your mom...and so I may have to add your photos to mine and call you 'cuzzins'.

These are great! I love looking at old pictures too.

So sad that you lost your mom at such a young age. You two look like you were quite a pair! :)

What wonderful memories photos can bring! It's nice to see the pictures of you with your mom. Great treasure! I don't have a lot of photos of my mom and I together in my younger years.
