This one's finished

Well today I managed to finish this quilt.
DSC02609
It's the quilt for Nathaniel's class auction ~ "It's a zoo in here!". I think it fits the bill. I had a bit of leftover fabric from the backing since you have to make the backing bigger than the front and then you cut it off before binding it. Usually these pieces are anywhere from 2" to 10" or sometimes more. I had quite a bit that was about 5½" from the side of the quilt and then there was another even larger piece from the bottom of the back. Instead of adding these leftovers to the scrap pile (well, there are many of these piles now) I decided to use them immediately. I paired them up with the leftovers from the binding fabric and made all this!

It's two of my "pretty pouches", three wonder wallets, 4 tissue covers, and a set of coasters. Now what will I do with these? Who knows ~ maybe I'll have to do another "giveaway" on here.
I know I've been getting a bit more traffic lately ~ some days upwards of 30 visitors ~ but y'all aren't leaving comments!
I know some of you (and you know who you are1) think I don't know you are reading my blog but guess what ~ my handy little site meter tells me who has read my blog. Well, it doesn't tell me exactly, but it gives me enough info (what ISP you use and where you are using it, etc.) to figure out who you are, so come on, fess up and leave me a comment!
Tell ya what.. leave me a comment between now and Sunday and I'll pull several names and send out some goodies. How about it? Up for the challenge?
Well I feel I've accomplished a lot today ~ So, how was your day?

I come peek at your blog every time you post at the 25weeks group! I had to come over this time to see the goodies you made with your leftovers - I LOVE THEM!! What beautiful fabric, and what wonderful little items! The quilt is gorgeous too - how big is it? A few years ago I made a quilt for my son's band as a fundraiser, but they didn't do anything special to earn $$ with it - they just handed it out as one of the raffle prizes. I was NOT impressed!!

That turned out real nice Barb, good work. The leftovers are cute, I like that fabric.

I love reading your blog and I'm not ashamed to admit it! I usually check up on you every night, tonight I checked on you twice, because I didn't see an update the first time I checked. I am *almost* inspired enough to start my own!

Okay! Now that's what I'm talking about! Trish ~ I so wish you would start your own blog ~ I'd love getting to see more pics of Maddie. Becky ~ good to hear from you too. Sandra ~ glad you are peeking. The quilt finished up at about lap size. It's a shame they used your quilt as a raffle prize, I'm sure they could have gotten big $$ for it.
BTW ~ I will be sending you all a little something for being the first ones to comment! Thanks

Lovely quilt and the other makes are great. My eldest Daughter would love any of those makes as they are in her favourite colours. This is my first comment but I think I have seen your blog several times.

How nice to make a quilt to donate like that! It's very nice. I made a log cabin quilt when I was in high school with some help from a quilting teacher that gave me free lessons since she taught at the fabric store I worked at. I still love it although it's in storage at the moment. I should get it out and make sure it's ok.

One of my favorite things to do with scraps is yo-yos. Although they are time consuming!

Love the quilt...I have a few to finish...

I also love those pouches. I think the hardest part is color choices...and you do a great job!

Debbielou, Julie, Bella ~ thanks for the wonderful comments ~ Wish I could send a "prize" to everyone of my wonderful readers but I will pick a couple anyway so stay tuned.

Ang ~ while one of the prizes is NOT a quilt we'll have to talk when you come to visit and see what we can do for you! Love you

I bookmarked your blog from the 25 week group. I confess--I live pretty close, and we probably shop in some of the same places--or we ought to. I love those little bags you invented. Glenda in Florida

Jill ~ I can't tell you how much I love your little snails ~ They are too cute.
Glenda ~ you'll have to email me and let me know where you are. I'd love a shopping/sewing buddy. All mine are in Tampa!
And, of course, you are both entered to get a little giftie. I'll announce the winners tomorrow.
