On a sad note

My mother-in-law's sister, our Aunt Lu, passed away yesterday. She was in her 80's but still sharp as a tack. While it was very unexpected, she did go quietly in her sleep. She grew up in Germany during the war and I'm sure she experienced many things that we can't even imagine. I have a necklace that was given to her by her husband just before he left for the war (he never returned) and passed down to my MIL when she left Germany and then to me which has always had much sentimental value for all of us. Here she is with my MIL at Viscaya in Miami which was the first time I got to meet her.

She was a wonderful, wonderful person. She will be missed by us, by her sister and mostly by her daughter, son in law and granddaughter.

I'm so sorry about Aunt Lu ... she obviously won't be forgotten, and isn't that a wonderful legacy to leave?

Sorry about the passing of your Aunt Lu. She seemed like a remarkable person. Was Richard born in Germany or the States?

Tell Richard a big Happy Birthday for me even though we haven't met yet. One day.....
